The Community Development department works with residents and other community partners to build and sustain a vibrant, healthy, safe and responsive community. The Community Development department builds partnerships, supports community based organizations, facilitates community problem solving, promotes connections with families, seniors and youth, and offers a variety of direct services that enhance the artistic, cultural and recreational experiences for residents.

The Community Development department core activities include recreation and leisure services, senior services, cultural development, transit services and social development.
