PERMITS REQUIRED FOR FIRE PITS
Along with the hot summer days are cool summer nights and those great back yard bonfires with family and friends.
Remember that all back yard fire pits require a permit for installation and use from the Fire Service. Permit applications are available at any of the 3 fire stations (Station 1 at 440 Maple Avenue SE, Station 2 at 3045 Dunmore Road SE, or Station 3 at 5 Halifax Avenue SW). Residents must provide a drawing of their fire pit to ensure it meets the guidelines. The Fire Service then does an on-site inspection of the pit and, if satisfied, a permit is issued.
Be fire safe - keep your property and the community flame-free this season.
