Maple Avenue Fire Station #1 was opened in 1975 to replace the former combined
City/Fire Hall built in 1905. The station provides protection fundamentally to the City’s
downtown core and the residential communities north of the South Saskatchewan River. The station
is home to the Departments senior administration and serves as the headquarters for Emergency
Management planning and coordination. As a fire response station it has minimum duty strength of 6
fire fighters including the duty platoon chief.
