This Park offers five kilometres of walking trails along the River from the Medicine Hat Public Library to Strathcona Island Park. For public enjoyment there are barbeque pits and picnic areas along the river, playground, an adventure and water playground, baseball diamond, boat launch off the South Saskatchewan River, and view points.

Strathcona Island Park also has cook huts in both the north and south of the park.
