The Water department treats and distributes potable water to City of Medicine Hat water customers. Our department ensures all treated water meets the rigid safety, quality, monitoring, recording and reporting parameters of Federal, Provincial, water industry and local standards. The Water Department also plans and implements infrastructure expansions and upgrades to meet planning needs, as well as supports approved local development objectives.

The Sewer department collects and treats sanitary wastewater from City of Medicine Hat sewer customers. We also ensure all treated waste water meets the rigid safety, environmental, monitoring, recording and reporting parameters pf Federal, Provincial, waste water industry and local standards. The Sewer Department also plans and implements infrastructure expansions and upgrades to meet planning needs, as well as supports approved local development objectives.

The Solid Waste department collects, diverts and/or disposes of solid waste from our solid waste customers. The Utility ensures all disposal operations meet the rigid safety, environmental, monitoring, recording, and reporting parameters of Federal, Provincial, solid waste industry and local standards. The Utility also plans and executes waste diversion programs to meet Council’s solid waste diversion goals.
