Environmental Utilities is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the pipes, valves, hydrants and services that make up the water distribution and collection systems. 

Blocked sewer service lines
Call the Water and Sewer Emergency line at 403.502.8042 to report the problem. Environmental Utilities will respond during normal working hours from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., 7 days a week to clear your line free of charge. If the problem occurs between 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m., your choices are to call a private sewer cleaning contractor at your expense, or wait until business hours for the Sewer Utility to schedule this cleaning.

If you are not flushing water or draining any water and you find water coming up your floor drain, it may indicate a plugged sewer main in the street. Call the Water and Sewer Emergency line at 403.502.8042 to report the problem.

Frozen water and sewer lines  

The City is not responsible for frozen water or sewer lines on private property. Property owners are advised to contact the Environmental Utilities Water and Sewer Emergency line at 403.502.8042 or contact a local plumber to thaw frozen water or sewer lines.

Water line breaks / Sanitary line repairs  

The Environmental Utilities Department repairs all water main and service line breaks, as well as broken or collapsed sanitary main and service lines that are on City property. Please call the Water and Sewer Emergency line at 403.502.8042 immediately to report any problems.
