The Water Department treats and distributes potable water to City of Medicine Hat water customers. The two main areas of responsibly are:

• Water Treatment
• Water Distribution

The Water department ensures all treated water meets the rigid safety, quality, monitoring, recording and reporting parameters of Federal, Provincial, water industry and local standards. The Water department also plans and implements infrastructure expansions and upgrades to meet planning needs, as well as supports approved local development objectives.
