Medicine Hat is home to a number of educational facilities.

The Medicine Hat School District #76 has 13 elementary schools and three secondary schools (grades 7 – 12).

The Medicine Hat Catholic Board of Education offers a complete academic program (K – Grade 12), including Fine Arts and Business course options.

There are also three private schools in Medicine Hat, the Cornerstone Christian School, the Medicine Hat Christian School, and the Montessori Elementary Institute of Southeastern Alberta.

There is also the Centre for Academic and Personal Excellence, a chartered school; and Ecole les Cypress, a public francophone school.

Medicine Hat College offers over 40 full-time programs as well as university transfer programming.

The Academy of Learning is a private post-secondary career college licensed under the Province of Alberta's Private Vocational Schools Act.
