Information re: resumption of normal use of water - 1:45 p.m. Monday, June 23

The Emergency Operations Centre advises that Environmental Utilities’ plan to handle waste water at the City’s Purmal lift station is working well. The City can now allow businesses and residents to resume normal use of water and sewer services.

The waste water being pumped consists of 99 per cent water and one per cent waste.

IF THERE WAS NO SEWER BACKUP IN YOUR HOME OR BUSINESS:

Residents in both the Red and Yellow Zones are now advised to open their sewer isolation valve.
If you vacated the premises, you are now cleared to return to your home or business.

IF THERE WAS SEWER BACKUP IN YOUR HOME OR BUSINESS:

If you were displaced from your premises, a City inspection team will visit to do an assessment. When you reoccupy the premises, please open the sewer isolation valve.

If you are in your home after cleaning up the backup, please open your sewer isolation valve.

Everyone in both the Red and Yellow zones are encouraged to continue to monitor their basements for any signs of sewer backup. Please call the Flood Information Line if you have any questions or concerns at 403-525-8600.
