Medicine Hat – At yesterday’s Development and Infrastructure (D&I) Committee meeting, the Downtown Redevelopment Plan was recommended to City Council.
The comprehensive plan includes infrastructure upgrades to roads, water, sewer and storm systems, incentive programs and enhancement projects for the downtown area. Much of the enhancement portion contains high concept ideas for Urban Art, Streetscapes, mid-block crossings and other possible redevelopment options.
The public is invited to attend one of two information sessions regarding the Downtown Redevelopment Plan next Wednesday June 13 in Council Chambers at 5 p.m. and the other starting at 6 p.m. Interested parties are welcome to attend as a variety of plan possibilities as well as new incentive programs for property owners in the downtown area will be presented for information.
