The Senior Citizens Advisory Committee (SCAC) promotes the well-being of older persons in our community. SCAC makes recommendations to Medicine Hat City Council on the issues that affect older persons. If you have ideas, concerns, or issues you would like addressed, take action through the Senior Citizens Advisory Committee.
Membership
SCAC is formed by 10 members who are elected at Veiner Centre's Annual General Meeting held in February. Committee membership is open to any person 50 years of age or over who is a resident of Medicine Hat.
Mission
To plan and promote informative, supportive programs, services and activities for persons 50 years and over.
To advocate fun, friendship, safety and a healthy lifestyle.
Responsibilities and Goals
- To promote the general well-being of the older adult within the city of Medicine Hat.
- To provide advice and recommendations to City Council on future directions and issues affecting seniors in Medicine Hat.
- To evaluate existing polices and programs and the development of recommendations on relevant issues.
