Connaught Infrastructure Upgrade Project
Construction Update
Medicine Hat – The contractor working on behalf of the Environmental Utilities Department is proceeding with the closure of Buttercup Court SE (see attached map) on Wednesday, June 13, 2012 for approximately eight weeks.
When construction commences, there will be through traffic on Primrose Drive SE. No vehicle access of any kind (in or out) of Buttercup Court SE will be granted during the time of construction. Residents are encouraged to find alternate on street parking outside the work zone or utilize the temporary parking facility located near the east entrance of College Drive SE and Primrose Drive SE. A courtesy shuttle will be in operation during the hours of 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week to transport people from the construction perimeter to the temporary parking facility on a first come, first serve basis.
During construction within the work zone, a temporary above ground water connection will supply water. A scheduled disruption will be necessary during connection to each residence. In some circumstances for the connection to be complete, a certified plumber may need access to inside of the house to confirm the suitability of the above ground connection.
Full water and sewer services will be operational throughout the duration of construction with the exception of emergency activities and scheduled, short duration interruptions. While residents are on temporary water, they are asked to eliminate or minimize water usage for irrigation purposes as run-off from lawn irrigation will travel to the road compromising the excavation area and road structure.
Garbage bins will be located at the outer perimeter of the work zone for waste disposal.
Resident’s patience and understanding is appreciated as these necessary upgrades will ensure the area has safe and reliable infrastructure for years to come
