Re-Inspections of Residential Properties for Assessment Purposes
Posted Date: 6/20/2012
For Immediate Release
June 20, 2012

Medicine Hat – As part of the five year inspection cycle, the City of Medicine Hat Assessment Department will be conducting re-inspections in Norwood, Crestwood, Southview, East Glen as well as parts of north east and north west Crescent Heights from May to September 2012.

The intent of this process is to ensure that the current residential property assessment records are accurate and that all residential property owners are treated fairly and equitably.

Assessors will be carrying identification while conducting door-to-door inspections requesting assessment based property information which includes an exterior and interior review of each building on the property. Legislation allows the assessor to enter and inspect any property in the municipality for assessment purposes.

If the building in question is occupied by a tenant, the landlord is requested to please make them aware of the re-inspection.

Please contact the City of Medicine Hat Assessment Department at 403.529.8114 with any questions or concerns. Thank you in advance for your co-operation.
