Irrigation Upgrades, Alternative Landscaping at Gilwell Park
Medicine Hat – The Parks and Recreation Department will be conducting irrigation rehabilitation operations in Gilwell Park beginning Monday, June 29.
The irrigation system requires a full rehabilitation to maintain the vegetation and green park. The project also includes updating area landscaping with native and hardy grasses, which will help with cost-savings and watering.
To accommodate the ongoing construction, the park will be closed to the public. It is expected that the park amenities, including the disk golf course, will reopen at the end of September.
The newly landscaped areas will remain closed to the public until next year while the grasses establish.
