Community Vibrancy Grant Application Deadline October 30, 2020

Medicine Hat – The City of Medicine Hat announces the creation of the Community Vibrancy Grant to support projects that bolster community spirit and promote quality of life.

The City of Medicine Hat values community activities and projects that promote recreation, leisure, artistic, cultural or heritage opportunities in the community. The purpose of the Community Vibrancy Grant is to provide one-time funding for projects that reflect the spirit of City Council's Strategic Plan 2019-2022 and support one or more of the following objectives:

  • promote vibrancy in the community of Medicine Hat
  • emphasize the spirit of the community by accentuating and celebrating the spirit of living in Medicine Hat
  • promote recreation, leisure, arts, cultural or heritage opportunities vital to the well-being and quality of life in Medicine Hat
  • promote a sense of belonging in the community

“We are hoping to see projects that inspire a sense of community and promote community vibrancy,” said Leah Prestayko, General Manager of Community Development. “We want to help people feel connected and focus on the positive in these times of uncertainty.”

The Community Vibrancy Grant was established using funding redirected from various City grant programs. The total amount available is approximately $40,000.

Individuals or organizations interested in staging Canada Day celebrations in 2021 are asked to submit funding applications through the Community Vibrancy Grant process.

The deadline for application is Friday, October 30, 2020 by 3:00 p.m. An information session is scheduled for Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. via Zoom. Grant guidelines, application and pre-registration information can be found on the City website.
