We encourage residents to spend a few minutes thinking about fire safety in their home.  In addition to taking care to prevent fires from occurring, all residents must have working smoke alarms on each level and 2 ways out of every bedroom.

Please refer to the below resources for additional information.

Fire Safety programs we provide at no charge;

  • Fire Safety Presentations- We provide education to Preschools, Elementary students, Seniors groups, New Canadians and other groups upon request.
  • Scheduled Fire Station tours - Are available to school and community groups.  Of course we are happy to provide informal station tours during daytime hours.
  • Home Fire Safety Check - We can come to your home, check and replace your smoke alarms or batteries, discuss your fire safety plan and help you look for hazards that may exist.
  • After the Fire Program - Occurs in a neighborhood that has had a recent fire, we will go door to door talking to residents, answering questions and offer to check their smoke alarms or perform a Home Fire Safety Check,
  • Fire Extinguisher orientation - Our members are available to speak to your organization or employees about the safe use and operation of fire extinguishers.
  • Juvenile Fire-Setter program - Parents who have concerns with their child's fire play or fire setting behavior can request an appointment where we can interview their child and work with the parents to develop a plan to provide the necessary education or resources to effectively deal with the concerning behavior.
