June Is Parks & Recreation Month
The City of Medicine Hat celebrates the month of June as Parks and Recreation Month. We take this opportunity to recognize the benefits of parks and recreation, and encouraging residents to get out and be active in the community. This initiative raises awareness about the importance of parks and recreation and the role it plays in the quality of life for all.
What is June is Recreation and Parks Month?
June is Recreation and Parks Month (JRPM) is a fun and exciting way to celebrate recreation and parks and promote its many benefits. JRPM Ambassadors from all over Alberta engage their neighbours and colleagues in local events, programs and activities that encourage participation in recreation and parks.
Who should participate?
Everyone! Organizations, municipalities, schools, businesses, and individuals are invited to participate in recreation and parks and engage their community with local activities.
This year, Jenny took a journey through June to showcase all the fun things to see and do in Medicine Hat and documented her experience through video. Click below to see Jenny's Journey.
